Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Knowlify Courses, Inc. collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to all users of the Knowlify Courses platform, including students, instructors, and visitors.

What we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including: name, email address, password (hashed), profile photo, payment information (processed by our payment processor — we do not store raw card data), course progress and completion data, reviews and ratings you submit, support communications, and any other information you choose to provide. We also collect information automatically when you use the Platform, such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, device identifiers, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and course interaction events. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in Section 6.

How we use it

We use the information we collect to: provide, operate, and improve the Platform; process transactions and send related information including purchase confirmations and receipts; personalize your experience and surface relevant courses; send promotional communications (you may opt out at any time); send administrative messages, technical notices, and security alerts; respond to your comments and questions; monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends; detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with: (a) Instructors — limited profile information (display name, avatar) and aggregated, anonymized progress data for courses you are enrolled in; (b) Service Providers — vendors who assist with payment processing (Stripe), cloud infrastructure (AWS), email delivery, analytics, and fraud prevention, all bound by confidentiality agreements; (c) Business Transfers — if Knowlify Courses is acquired, merged, or undergoes a similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; (d) Legal Requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Knowlify Courses, our users, or the public.

California rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA): (a) Right to Know — you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you; (b) Right to Delete — you may request that we delete personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions; (c) Right to Correct — you may request correction of inaccurate personal information; (d) Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; (e) Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — we only use sensitive information to provide services; (f) Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity before processing requests.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention. Course completion records may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies (web beacons, pixel tags, local storage) to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, authenticate you, prevent fraud, analyze usage, and deliver relevant content. Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. Analytics and preference cookies can be managed through your browser settings or our cookie consent tool. By continuing to use the Platform after being informed about our use of cookies, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy.

Children under 13

The Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
